My take: big names on the backer list, but they may be Stride’s investors rather than Tenor’s, and Stride is winding down its chain. That’s the row I’d weigh most.
Tenor Moved to usetenor.xyz: Ignore the Old Domain
Tenor’s official site is now usetenor.xyz. When I checked this week, tenor.xyz redirected to a GoDaddy page listing the domain for sale. Older guides still point at it, and so did our old referral link.
A dead link is the small problem. A domain that used to belong to a crypto app is a classic phishing setup. Someone buys it, clones the login page and waits for people to connect a wallet. Bookmark usetenor.xyz and delete any tenor.xyz bookmarks. If a tenor.xyz page ever asks you to sign something, close the tab. If you want the full checklist, here’s how to spot a fake airdrop site.
The name causes confusion too. Tenor Finance is a separate fixed-rate lending platform on Base, built on Morpho, and other crypto projects use the Tenor name as well. None of them are connected to the Stride team’s bot. Only trust usetenor.xyz.
The homepage numbers changed as well. When I first covered Tenor in May 2026, I quoted $769M+ volume across 3,500+ sessions from the old tenor.xyz homepage. The new homepage shows $30M+ and 1,500+. I found no public explanation for the drop, and neither set has been verified on-chain.
What Is Tenor? The Stride Team’s Perp Points Bot
Tenor is a trading bot from the Stride team that runs market-making sessions on perp DEXs to farm points. It automates the dull, expensive part of airdrop farming, which is generating trading volume. Its homepage describes “optimized market making” that “reacts live to changing market conditions” and runs 24/7, weekends included.
How it holds your money is not documented. A user testimonial quoted on the homepage calls Tenor’s setup non-custodial, but Tenor itself publishes no docs, terms or risk disclosure saying so. Don’t assume your funds stay in your own wallet until you’ve confirmed it in the app.
In May 2026, Tenor farmed Hyperliquid HIP-3. Those are the permissionless perp DEXs that builders deploy themselves. Per Hyperliquid’s HIP-3 docs, a deployer has to stake 500k HYPE to run one HIP-3 perp DEX, and each one has its own order books and deployer settings. You don’t need any HYPE to farm. What it tells you is that every HIP-3 market belongs to a deployer with real money at stake, and that deployer sets its own rules. Points on one market say nothing about the next. If you’re new to the venue, our Hyperliquid walkthrough covers how its original points programme worked.
The live homepage no longer names any venue. It only talks about perp trading and points. So I’d confirm in the app which exchange and markets a session trades before depositing anything. Tenor isn’t a Solana protocol either, even though you can sign in with Phantom. If you’d rather trade perps on Solana itself, start with comparing Drift, Jupiter and Pacifica.
On backing: Tenor’s homepage shows Multicoin, Pantera, 1Confirmation, NIV, Road Capital Management and DBA. I couldn’t find a public funding announcement for Tenor itself, so these may be Stride-era investors. For comparison, Stride’s own $6.7M seed in 2022 was led by North Island VC, Distributed Global and Pantera.
Tenor has no token of its own today. The points you farm belong to whichever venue it trades on, and those points are a bet too.
Stride Is Winding Down Its Chain: What It Means for Tenor
On 29 September 2026, Stride proposed an orderly shutdown of the Stride chain, and the announcement says nothing about Tenor. Per Stride’s wind-down post, stToken redemptions run on Stride until 12 October, pause while the backing assets unbond, and resume on Osmosis around 20 November. Stride also says stTokens do not expire. Osmosis has already added wind-down notices with those dates to the affected stTokens in its asset list. Stride said Stride Labs and the Stride Association expect their reserves to run out by February 2027 at the current spending rate.
Back in May 2026, the team’s record of running DeFi infrastructure since 2022 was what made Tenor look credible. That case is weaker now. Tenor could be where the team goes next, or it could get squeezed by the same runway problem. I can’t tell you which. What I can say is that a team cutting costs is a reason to keep a farming deposit small and withdraw often. If you hold stTokens from Stride itself, check those dates now.
Tenor vs Tread.fi: Tread Now Has a Token
Tread launched its TREAD token on 16 September 2026, and that’s the strongest argument anyone has for a Tenor airdrop.
| Tenor | Tread.fi | |
|---|---|---|
| Focus | Perp point farming (HIP-3 in May 2026) | Many CEXs and perp DEXs |
| Pitch | “6x the points for the same cost” (self-reported) | Institutional execution, multi-venue |
| Backers | Homepage lists Multicoin, Pantera, DBA and others | $3.5M pre-seed led by New Form Capital |
| Traction (self-reported) | $30M+ volume, 1,500+ sessions | $10B+ volume, 49,900+ orders/day |
| Own token | None announced | TREAD, live since 16 September 2026 |
| Track record | New (2026) | Established, founded by an ex-Morgan Stanley VP |
Per Tokenomist’s data, TREAD’s total supply is 100 million, and 15.2% went to a genesis distribution based on platform usage. On 13 September, three days before launch, Tread announced TIP-1: fee discounts for users who hold TREAD in their Tread wallet.
So a farming bot in this exact niche did reward its users with a token. It doesn’t mean Tenor will follow, on any timeline or at any size.
Here’s what Tenor’s cost pitch works out to. $2.5M of volume per $100 is $40 per $1M of volume. Its figure for Tread, $400k per $100, is $250 per $1M. That’s where the “6x” comes from. Both numbers come from Tenor’s homepage, including the one about Tread, and points per $1M of volume differ by venue anyway. Treat it as a claim to test with your own sessions.
Tread also runs venue boosts for bot users, like the one in our RiseX farming guide. If you want the established option, read our Tread breakdown first.
Is Tenor Safe? Risks Before You Farm
Tenor isn’t proven safe. There’s no published fee schedule, audit or risk disclosure on usetenor.xyz, and Tenor hasn’t documented how it holds your funds. For a tool that trades your capital, that’s a real red flag, Stride pedigree or not. Paying a bot to churn volume when you don’t know the fee is a pretty risky way to farm. I’d want to see the fee before I put a cent in.
The PnL claim is vague. The homepage heading says “Break even PnL ~25% of the time”, with “Get paid to farm volume” right under it. Nearby there’s a “Positive PnL Sessions” label and a cumulative PnL chart marked “Trending positive”. It doesn’t say whether 25% means break even or better, or what happens in the rest. My reading, and it’s only my reading: assume most sessions cost you something until your own PnL says otherwise.
No token is promised. Neither Tenor nor the venues it trades have confirmed an airdrop for Tenor users, so you could farm for months and get nothing. And the venues are getting stricter about sybil and wash-trade volume. Lighter removed sybil and self-trade points and handed them back to real users. Pacifica can slash points after the fact. Tight-loop market making is exactly what those filters look for.
The track record is thin as well. The volume and session counts dropped sharply between May and October 2026, and I couldn’t find an official Tenor X account linked from the site. Add the parked old domain and the Stride runway, and I’d treat any deposit as money you can lose.
One thing from my own side of the market. I LP on Meteora, where volume is what pays me. Here, volume is what you’re paying for. I post my LP results, losses included, on my X account @RazzaeR, so you can see what the fee-earning side looks like.
Tenor Airdrop FAQ
Does Tenor have a token or confirmed airdrop?
No. As of 6 October 2026, Tenor has announced neither. The airdrop idea is speculation, based on the backers listed on its homepage and Tread shipping TREAD in September 2026.
Is this the same as Tenor Finance?
No. Tenor Finance is a fixed-rate lending platform on Base, built on Morpho. This guide covers Tenor the perp point-farming bot from the Stride team at usetenor.xyz. Neither has an announced token.
What happened to tenor.xyz?
Tenor now runs on usetenor.xyz. In October 2026, tenor.xyz redirected to a GoDaddy for-sale page. Don’t connect a wallet to anything on the old domain.
Is Tenor on Solana, and which exchanges does it trade on?
No, Tenor isn’t a Solana protocol. Phantom is just one of its login options. In May 2026 it farmed Hyperliquid HIP-3, and the live homepage (checked 6 October 2026) names no exchange, so confirm the venue in the app tour before you deposit.
How do I get a Tenor invite or referral code?
Tenor’s login page tells new users to “Get a code on Discord”. Use the Discord link on usetenor.xyz itself (usetenor.xyz/discord), not one from a reply or a DM. Our referral code is RAZZAER: enter it if the app asks, or sign up through usetenor.xyz/r/RAZZAER. The old tenor.xyz referral links are dead.
Does the Stride shutdown affect Tenor?
Unclear. Stride’s 29 September 2026 proposal covers the Stride chain and its stTokens, and I found no statement about Tenor in it. The same announcement says the team’s reserves run out by February 2027, so keep deposits small.
How is Tenor different from Tread.fi?
Tread works across many exchanges, has far more volume and a longer record, and has had its own TREAD token since September 2026. Tenor is newer and narrower, and its whole pitch is more points per dollar.
Will I make money farming with Tenor?
Don’t count on it from the trading. Tenor’s homepage claims break-even PnL about 25% of the time, and my reading is that most sessions cost something. The cost only makes sense if a future airdrop covers your losses, and none is confirmed.
Verdict: Is Tenor Worth Farming?
I wouldn’t put real money into Tenor right now. The Stride background used to be the reason to take it seriously. Then on 29 September 2026, that same team proposed winding down its main chain because money is running short. Tread paying users in TREAD shows a farming bot can end in a token, and that’s still the bull case for Tenor. But nothing is promised. You don’t know the fees, you don’t know how funds are held, the PnL claim is vague, and the venues slash the exact behaviour you’d be paying for. That’s a lot of unknowns for a tool you’re handing your capital to.
If you do try it, use a small amount you’re fine losing and withdraw after each session. If that isn’t you, wait until Tenor publishes a token or clearer terms. There are cheaper points plays on our airdrops hub. If you still want to test it small, use the invite link in Step 1 or code RAZZAER.
My own on-chain time goes into Meteora DLMM LPing. If earning fees appeals to you more than paying them, start with how Meteora DLMM works. Then come ask questions in the DLMM Telegram chat.
