Solana Transfer Hook Tokens on Hooked: Why Trades Fail
Solana transfer hook tokens, like Hooked launches, check a rule on every buy, sell and send, which is probably why your Jupiter or wallet trade failed. Paste the mint into Solscan to confirm the Transfer Hook extension, then read the rule and trade links on its page in Hooked’s launches list.
These are Token-2022 tokens (Solana’s newer token program). A trade fails when the rule says no, or when your app (Jupiter, a terminal, your wallet’s Send button) can’t build a transfer the hook accepts. Take a FOMO-only token. You can only buy it in fomo (here’s how to set fomo up). The rule never blocks a sell, but Jupiter won’t trade it, so you sell from the sell box on its Hooked page.
If a trade just failed, start with the table below. If you’re about to buy one, or LP on Meteora, go to the six checks and the LP section.
Key takeaways
- Trades fail when the rule says no or your app leaves out the accounts the hook needs.
- Paste the mint into Solscan and look for Transfer Hook.
- Read the rule on its Hooked page to see where you can buy, sell and send it, because many hook tokens can't be traded on Jupiter.
- Only 14 of 1,121 Hooked launches had graduated and dropped their rule by 16 October 2026, so assume you'll be living with it.
- Then do a tiny buy and sell before you size up.

Why your transfer hook token trade failed
| What failed | Why | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Buy or sell on Jupiter or a bot | Jupiter marks many hook tokens as not tradable. Some rules also only accept buys from one app (fomo, the Pump app) or Hooked’s own route | Trade on the token’s Hooked page or in the named app. For open rules, try the Axiom link on the Hooked page with a few cents. If that fails too, don’t add more |
| Send from your wallet | A wallet’s own Send can leave out the extra accounts the hook needs | Use the token page’s send tool if it has one, or another app that supports transfer hooks. Send a tiny test first |
| Sell, even on the Hooked page | The rule blocks it right now: sell cap, holder vesting, trading hours, hot potato, ping pong | Read the rule, then sell a smaller amount or wait for the window |
On 16 October 2026, Jupiter’s quotes for two Hooked tokens, $FOMO and DISCIPLINE, came back with “The token … is not tradable” (error TOKEN_NOT_TRADABLE), buying and selling. If that’s the message you got, check for a hook first.
If Solscan shows a normal token with no hook, none of this applies. You’ve got an ordinary failed swap (slippage, priority fee or no route), and our swap guide covers those fixes.
What is a Solana transfer hook?
A Solana transfer hook is a program that a Token-2022 token calls on every buy, sell and wallet-to-wallet send. It reads who is sending, who is receiving and how much, then says yes or no. If it says no, the whole transaction fails on-chain. It looks like Jupiter or your wallet broke, but the token refused the transfer.
There’s a second catch. Every transfer of a hook token has to carry some “extra accounts” that the hook program reads. An app that doesn’t look those up can’t move the token at all, even when the rule would allow it. For the Token-2022 background, read how Solana tokens work.

Many of the hook tokens going around launched on Hooked (hookedpad.com). Every token there is a Token-2022 mint with a rule the creator picks at launch, from max per wallet to app locks, games and AI-run hooks, sold on a Meteora bonding curve.
Find the rule on your token: Solscan, then Hooked
It’s two lookups and takes about two minutes.
First, confirm it’s a hook token. Copy the mint address from DexScreener, your wallet or your terminal. The mint is the token’s real ID, because tickers repeat. Paste it into Solscan, check that the token program is Token-2022, then look in the extensions for Transfer Hook and the hook program ID. If you’ve never opened that panel, this explorer walkthrough shows how to read a Solscan token page.

Then search the token on Hooked’s launches list and open its page. It states the rule in plain words, whether the curve is permanent or still bonding, the hook program ID (match it to Solscan) and where the token trades.
Take the FOMO-only $FOMO page (mint 8V2j…AmJA, hook program 4Tab…qMB5). It says the token can only be bought through the FOMO app and that the dev wallet is permanently whitelisted to buy anywhere. It also says selling and sending always work. Right under that is a sell box that goes straight to the token’s pool.

Hooked’s list has several tokens called $FOMO, $FOMOFY and $PUMPERS, and they don’t all share a rule. Match the mint every time. Buying the wrong one is the easiest mistake to make here.
Where each kind of hook token can be bought and sold
Hooked has dozens of rules. For a trader, they fall into five groups.
| Rule group | Rules | Buy | Sell | Wallet send |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Open rules | Max per wallet, anti-dump caps, anti-bundle, trading or market hours | Try the Axiom link on its Hooked page with a few cents (Jupiter: not tradable on 16 Oct) | Same, inside the caps and hours | Hook-aware app only |
| Hooked route | Vesting, allowlist, holder-gated, pegs, buyer rewards, tithe | Hooked token page | Hooked token page | Hook-aware app only |
| App-locked buys | FOMO-only, Pump App only | Only in fomo or the Pump app | Rule allows anywhere. $FOMO’s page has a sell box | Allowed, via a hook-aware app |
| App-only trading | OpenSea only, social trading | Inside that app | Inside that app only, so no exit if it drops support | Allowed, via a hook-aware app |
| P2P-only | P2P-only | Only the creator buys from the curve, then hands tokens out | No market until it graduates (always a graduating curve) | Wallet to wallet only, via a hook-aware app |
FOMO-only and Pump App only tokens only limit where you buy. The Pump App only rule refuses buys from Jupiter’s website, terminals like Axiom or Photon, or straight from the pool. The rule allows sells anywhere, but Jupiter may still have no route, so sell from the token’s Hooked page. In practice you buy one in the Pump app, and our Pump.fun Callouts guide covers getting started in that app.
A Jupiter link on a Hooked page doesn’t mean Jupiter can trade the token. Hooked-route pages say it outright (“it trades here rather than on Jupiter”), and their trade box goes straight to the pool instead of through an aggregator. Open-rule pages like DISCIPLINE’s have no trade box, just links to Axiom, DexScreener and Jupiter, and those links are the only exit the page gives you. Whether a terminal or bot can fill a hook token depends on its hook support, so put a few cents through and sell it back before anything bigger.
Sending a hooked token to another wallet
A wallet’s own Send button can leave out the extra accounts a hook needs, so the send fails. Phantom lists transfer hook support (see how the main Solana wallets compare), but send a tiny amount first. Your options:
- Plague tokens can’t be bought by anyone who doesn’t hold some yet. A holder has to send your first tokens, which is why their page has a send tool.
- Lock & earn tokens can change hands through Hooked’s OTC desk. They arrive in the buyer’s wallet still locked until the seller’s lock date.
- P2P-only tokens only move wallet to wallet until their curve graduates.
- Everything else: use an app that supports Token-2022 transfer hooks. A failed send doesn’t lose the tokens. At worst you pay a small network fee.
Will the rule ever switch off? Graduating vs permanent curves
Only if the token is on a graduating curve and that curve fills. On 16 October 2026, Hooked’s launches page showed 1,121 launches: 635 on permanent curves, 472 still bonding and 14 graduated. That’s about 1 in 80 that has shed its rule.
- Graduating curve: when the curve fills, Meteora removes the hook in the same buy that fills it. From then on it trades like any other token in a Meteora pool.
- Permanent curve: it never graduates, so the rule runs for the life of the token.
If you buy a hook token, assume you’ll be living with its rule.

6 checks before you buy a hook token
These take about five minutes, and you do them before any SOL goes in.
- The mint matches the token page. You need the same mint on Solscan, on the Hooked page and wherever you’re buying. Copies with the same ticker already fill the list. Bookmark hookedpad.com rather than clicking links in replies, and keep your everyday wallet habits tight.
- You know where, when and how much you can sell. Read the rule. Each of these limits your exit:
- sell caps
- holder vesting
- hot potato (the last buyer can’t sell or send until a different wallet buys)
- ping pong (after a buy the next trade must be a sell, and the other way round)
- trading hours
Then check there’s enough depth to get out. If the page doesn’t make your exit clear, assume you may not be able to sell.
3. Permanent or graduating. On a permanent curve the rule never goes. On a graduating curve it goes only if the curve actually fills.
4. Who can change the rules. On most tokens nobody can turn a rule off after launch (apart from Hooked’s upgrade key, see check 6). Three hook types are the exception: Editable (the creator, or an agent they name, rewrites rules on-chain), DAO (holders vote) and Hooki (an AI agent checks the token on a schedule and can rewrite the rules). For any of these, assume the rules can change after you buy. One Editable token, Ush Kutchum ($USH), listed 54 rule changes in its first six days, with no notice before each one.
5. Who the rule doesn’t apply to. The FOMO-only page says the dev wallet can buy anywhere, and Pump App only tokens work the same way. Find out who has an exemption, because that wallet can trade in ways you can’t.
6. Platform risk. Hooked’s deploy wallet can still upgrade the hook programs to fix bugs, so you’re trusting the team. An app-only token also depends on that app keeping its support. On top of that, run the same honeypot and authority checks you’d run on any memecoin. A scanner that simulates the sell through Jupiter can’t tell you much when Jupiter won’t trade the token.
So the real test is a tiny buy and a tiny sell before you size up. If the sell fails, all you’ve lost is a few cents.
I’d skip any permanent-curve token with an Editable, DAO or Hooki hook unless it’s money I’m happy to lose outright. A permanent token with a simple open rule like max per wallet or anti-bundle is a different case: the rule is fixed and you can see exactly what it does. If bonding curves and rug checks are still new to you, start with the memecoin basics.
What you pay on Hooked and where the fee goes
| Rule type | Fee per trade |
|---|---|
| Most rules, priced in SOL | 1% |
| King of the Hill | 1.65% (0.5% to the current King) |
| Lock & earn, Loans | 2.25% |
| Paired launch, Polarity, Social Trading Wars, Underwater | 3% |
| Editable hook run by an agent | 1.5% to 4%, set by the creator |
Meteora, whose curve the token trades on, keeps 20% of the fees. Most of the rest goes to buying and burning HOOKED. The exact split varies by rule type, so check the token page.
In practice, a 1 SOL buy of a 1% token pays 0.01 SOL in fees. Sell it again and the round trip costs about 2% before slippage and network fees. On a 3% token it’s about 6%. Some tokens add their own charge on top: Fart Fan Inu ($FFI) has a tithe of 0.0215 SOL per trade. Check the fee line on the token page and compare live quotes.
Other hook launchpads: Ember, Hooker and more
Ember and Hooker launch hook tokens on Solana too, and new launchpads keep copying the idea.
- Ember: its hook coins live under EmberHOOKs on embercurve.fun. Rules like a max bag, market hours or profit-only sells are picked at launch and sit on the mint, and the swap that completes the curve lifts them.
- Hooker: launches a Token-2022 hook token on a Meteora curve shaped like Pumpfun’s, and nobody can change its rules after launch. When the curve fills, the curve’s money creates and buys a normal Pumpfun coin, and every holder gets their share automatically.
For any launchpad, including ones not named here, the Solscan step works the same: if the mint shows a Transfer Hook, run all 6 checks. If you’re choosing where to launch rather than what to buy, our Solana launchpad comparison covers the regular ones.
LPing HOOKED and graduated hook tokens on Meteora
HOOKED itself has no hook. It’s a plain SPL token, so it routes on Jupiter and LPs like any other memecoin. Graduated hook tokens are the same once Meteora strips the rule. Almost all of HOOKED’s liquidity sits in three Meteora pools.
| HOOKED-SOL pool | Fee | TVL | 24h Fees/TVL |
|---|---|---|---|
| DAMM v2 | 3% | about $104K | 2.45% |
| DLMM, bin step 50 | 0.5% | about $56K | 3.40% |
| DLMM, bin step 30 | 0.3% | about $66K | 1.87% |
Meteora pool pages, 16 October 2026. These move hourly.
The DAMM v2 pool did about its own TVL in 24h volume. Each DLMM pool did around $290K to $300K, roughly 5x its TVL. The 0.5% pool made $1,903 in fees that day.

Volume against TVL is what pays you. Fees come from volume, and less TVL means each LP takes a bigger share. The fee rate counts too: the 3% DAMM v2 pool earned more per dollar than the 0.3% DLMM pool, and only the 0.5% DLMM pool beat it. Of the three, the 0.5% DLMM pool is the one I’d look at first for that reason.
The other side is the risk. When a token drops hard in a day, your position fills up with more of it as the price falls, and fees don’t always cover that. How wide I’d go depends on the volume. When it’s steady and well above TVL, a narrower range keeps paying. When it swings hard, size small and go wide enough to survive a big red day. High Fees/TVL on its own doesn’t make a pool safe (why those pools are often traps). HOOKED trades on both pool types, so our DAMM v2 vs DLMM comparison helps you pick one and covers which positions count for referral rewards. If bins and ranges are new to you, DLMM for beginners starts from zero.
If you LP on Meteora, join through Meteora’s referral page with code RAZZAER. Referred LPs earn 2% of protocol fees from their eligible positions, up to 1,000 USDC a cycle. I stake 40,000 MET behind that code.
If you want to see how I size and range pools like these, I post my wins and losses on X and break them down on YouTube. Range questions go in the DLMM Telegram chat. Everything else is in the Meteora hub.
FAQ
Why does Jupiter say my token is not tradable?
Jupiter marks many hook tokens as not tradable (its quote returns TOKEN_NOT_TRADABLE), and some rules only accept buys from one app or Hooked’s own route. HOOKED itself does route. Trade on the token’s Hooked page, or in the app its rule names.
Why won’t Phantom send my hook token?
Phantom supports transfer hooks, but a send still fails if the rule refuses it or the hook’s extra accounts aren’t included. Try a tiny amount first. If it fails, use the token page’s send tool if it has one.
Can I always sell a hook token?
No. Sell caps, holder vesting, trading hours, hot potato and ping pong rules can all block a sell, and app-only tokens can only be sold in their app. Read the rule and do a tiny buy and sell first.
Can Hooked rules be turned off after launch?
On most tokens the creator can’t switch the rule off, but Hooked’s deploy wallet can still upgrade the hook programs, so you’re trusting the team. Editable, DAO and Hooki rules can be rewritten after launch. The rule only goes away for good when a graduating curve fills.
What is the real HOOKED contract address?
C1mBfBoDkwWfd6uTFZp62ARHLjeVp3bDpCDMfMZtPngE, as shown on hookedpad.com. Check it matches on Solscan before you buy.
Is HOOKED the same as Hooked Protocol (HOOK)?
No. Hooked Protocol is an older, unrelated project. HOOKED is the Hooked launchpad’s token on Solana, with the mint above.
