How to Buy Tokenized Stocks on Solana: Who Can Buy Which
You can now hold Tesla or Nvidia in a Solana wallet, right next to your SOL. These are tokenized stocks: crypto tokens that track a real company’s share price, backed by shares an issuer holds. Working out how to buy tokenized stocks on Solana is mostly not about the swap, which is easy. It is about which tokens you are allowed to buy.
The five main issuers each shut out a different set of countries, some need KYC (identity checks: ID and proof of address), and only some work in DeFi. Securitize, which added US stocks in late 2026, is the one of the five open to eligible US buyers.
Below is who can buy which, then how to buy by each route, then the risks.
Key takeaways
- Outside the US, the simplest route is swapping USDC for xStocks or Ondo tokens on Jupiter from a wallet that supports Token Extensions.
- Securitize is the only one of the five main issuers open to eligible US buyers, giving a legal claim on a real share, but its tokens only move between wallets it has approved.
- Every issuer blocks a different list of countries and wallets add their own, so read the issuer's eligibility page before uploading ID anywhere.
- xStocks is the one you can actually use in DeFi, as Kamino collateral or in Raydium pools, while PreStocks gives no ownership, votes or dividends.
- Buy by mint address from the issuer's own site, never by ticker, because Securitize and Backpack both use SPCX for SpaceX.

Tokenized stocks on Solana: who can buy which
Yes, you can buy stocks on Solana, as tokens. Solana itself has no shares to buy; you can hold SOL, or the shares of listed companies that hold SOL. Five issuers (the companies that create the tokens and hold what backs them) make up most of what you’ll find: xStocks, Ondo Global Markets, Backpack Securities, Securitize and PreStocks.
| Issuer | What you hold | Who can’t buy | KYC | Where you buy | Use in DeFi |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| xStocks | Token backed 1:1 by the share | US, Canada, Australia, Belgium and others | At exchanges; none for a DEX swap | Jupiter, Raydium, Kraken, Bybit, wallets | Yes: Kamino, Raydium pools |
| Ondo | Token from a BVI issuer via an SPV | US, Canada, sanctioned list; pro investors only in the EEA, Switzerland, Singapore and others | None for a DEX swap; pro-investor status required where restricted | Jupiter, Phantom | Built for it; no markets named |
| Backpack Securities | Token redeemable 1:1 for a real share | US, UAE, Japan, Backpack EU and others | Verified Backpack account plus agreement | Backpack exchange | Moves to wallets and DEXs; Kamino isolated lending market |
| Securitize | Legal claim on a real share | Anyone outside the US, EU and its other permitted countries | Yes, through its broker-dealer | Securitize Stocks, in USDC | No: approved wallets only |
| PreStocks | SPV exposure, no shareholder rights | US persons and others it calls ineligible | Not in its docs | Jupiter and wallets | Not in its docs |
| Issuer | Range | Hours | Dividends | Ticker style |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| xStocks | The longest list of stocks and ETFs | 24/7 | Added to your balance | x suffix (AAPLx) |
| Ondo | 200+ at Solana launch; see Ondo’s list for today’s count | Generally 24/5, some weekend sessions | Reinvested into the price, after withholding | on suffix (TSLAon) |
| Backpack Securities | Selected US stocks and ETFs | 24/7 for selected stocks | Reinvested as extra tokens | Plain (SPCX) |
| Securitize | 12 US stocks at launch | Extended hours, 24/7 planned | Passed through, votes where the share has them | Plain (AAPL, SPCX) |
| PreStocks | Private companies (OpenAI, Anthropic, Anduril) | 24/7 in Phantom | None | Company name |
The “who can’t buy” column is each issuer’s own list, cut short to fit. The place you buy can block more on top. Phantom, for example, hides tokenized stocks in France, Germany and the Netherlands, which xStocks itself doesn’t list. So open the issuer’s eligibility page before you upload ID anywhere.
The quick route:
- Outside the US and allowed by xStocks or Ondo: swap USDC on Jupiter from your own wallet (Route 1).
- Want Backpack or Securitize: open an account and pass KYC first (Route 2).
These five aren’t the whole market. Superstate’s Opening Bell puts companies’ own SEC-registered shares on Solana, such as Galaxy’s GLXY and Forward Industries’ FWDI. Superstate is the transfer agent, and only approved, KYC’d investors can hold them. Remora’s rStocks, which older guides still mention, wound down with Step Finance in February 2026, and Remora said holders could redeem them for USDC.
How to buy tokenized stocks on Solana, step by step
Route 1: swap from your own wallet (xStocks, Ondo, PreStocks)
1. Get a wallet that supports Token Extensions. These are extra rules built into a token, and stock tokens use them. Solflare and Jupiter’s wallet both handle them. Phantom does too, outside France, Germany and the Netherlands.
2. Fund it. You need a little SOL for network fees, plus USDC to buy with. USDC is a dollar stablecoin, so 1 USDC is about $1. Buy both on an exchange and withdraw on the Solana network, or bridge USDC from another chain.
3. Copy the real mint address. A mint address is a token’s unique ID. Anyone can copy a ticker, but nobody can copy a mint. Take it from the issuer’s own site, such as xStocks’ token list, and paste it into Jupiter instead of searching “AAPLx”.
4. Swap. Set USDC as what you sell, the stock token as what you buy, and enter the amount. Before you confirm, check price impact and slippage: price impact is how far your own order moves the price, and slippage tolerance is the most extra you’ll accept before the swap fails. Smaller names and night or weekend trades cost more, so for the closest price, trade on a weekday in US hours.

5. Check it landed. The token should show in your wallet under its real name.

Route 2: open an account and pass KYC (Backpack, Securitize)
Backpack Securities:
- Verify your Backpack account and deposit USDC or another supported asset.
- Open a stock and press Buy.
- The first time, you’ll see Enable Trading instead of Preview. Click it, read the user agreement, tick the box and press Acknowledge.
- Press Preview and place the order. From then on, orders go straight to Preview.
Securitize:
- Open an account at Securitize Stocks and press Start Trading.
- Pass KYC and AML checks. EU investors go through Securitize Europe, a Spanish-regulated firm.
- Add the Solana wallet you want to use to your account; only wallets Securitize whitelists after KYC can hold the tokens.
- Fund it with USDC and buy.
Securitize hasn’t published fees or minimums, so check the order screen before you confirm.

What you actually own with a tokenized stock
You don’t hold the share at a broker. You hold whatever claim the issuer gives you, and that varies a lot.
- A legal claim on a real share. Securitize, Superstate’s company-issued shares, and Backpack once you redeem. This is the closest to owning the stock.
- A token backed 1:1 by shares the issuer holds. You get the price and dividends but no votes, and your claim is on the issuer, not the company. This covers xStocks and Ondo, and Backpack tokens until you redeem them.
- Exposure through a company that holds shares. No ownership, votes or dividends. This is PreStocks.
Token Extensions also give the issuer power over the token. xStocks can pause all transfers, and a setting called permanent delegate lets the issuer move or burn tokens from any wallet, for example on a court order. On Solscan, open the token’s mint and look for Pausable and Permanent Delegate under its extensions.

xStocks: the easiest to trade and the most used in DeFi
xStocks are issued by Backed Assets (JE) Limited in Jersey, and each one is backed 1:1 by the real stock or ETF. Tickers end in x, like AAPLx or TSLAx. It lists more stocks and ETFs than any other issuer here, and they trade 24/7.
Who can’t buy: the US and US persons, Canada, Australia, Belgium and the rest of Kraken’s list. KYC happens at the exchange (Kraken, Bybit). On-chain, the token moves freely, so a DEX swap won’t ask for ID. That doesn’t make it allowed if your country is on the list.
You can buy on Jupiter and Raydium, inside Solflare and Phantom, or on Kraken and Bybit. Dividends work by rebasing: instead of cash, your token balance goes up.
xStocks is the one most people outside the US can actually use. Holding and using xStocks on-chain can also earn xStocks points. Trading on Kraken doesn’t count towards them.
Ondo Stocks: a long list of stocks and ETFs
Ondo launched with over 200 US stocks and ETFs on Solana, sold through Jupiter. Tickers end in “on”, like TSLAon. The issuer is Ondo Global Markets (BVI) Limited, an SPV (a separate company set up only to issue the tokens and hold the backing assets). The tokens are overcollateralized, a third-party security agent holds first claim on the assets, and holdings are checked daily.
Ondo tokens are total return: dividends are added to the token’s price instead of paid out, after US withholding tax (tax kept back, 30% for most non-US holders unless a tax treaty lowers it), so over time the price drifts above the plain share price.
The US, Canada and a sanctioned list are banned outright. In the EEA, Switzerland, Hong Kong, Singapore, Brazil, Malaysia and others, only professional or qualified investors can buy. In the EEA that means meeting at least two tests: a EUR 500,000 portfolio, 10+ big trades a quarter for a year, or a year working in finance. In Switzerland, individuals can’t buy at all. Check its eligibility page before anything else.
Trading is generally 24/5, with weekend sessions for some assets and pauses around dividends and splits.
Backpack Securities: tokens you can turn into real shares
You buy inside the Backpack exchange, as in Route 2. Selected stocks trade 24/7.
Backpack Securities is not offered in the US, the UAE or Japan, among others, and not on Backpack EU. It also isn’t available anywhere Backpack itself doesn’t operate.
What makes it different: you can withdraw the tokens to a Solana wallet, then deposit them back to redeem 1:1 for the real share, with no extra approval. Dividends on the tokens are reinvested as extra tokens.
Kamino has also opened an isolated lending market for Backpack’s tokens, so you can borrow USDC against MU, SKHY, SPCX and SNDK. Stocks, crypto and perps share one account and one balance.
Securitize Stocks: real share claims, open to eligible US buyers
Securitize Stocks launched with 12 US stocks: Apple, Microsoft, Nvidia, Alphabet, Tesla, Meta, Amazon, Netflix, Circle, SpaceX (as SPCX), Strategy and Palantir. Each token is backed 1:1 by a real share and is a security entitlement, which is the same legal claim on a share you’d have at a normal broker. Dividends pass through, and so do votes where the share has them. Securitize says the backing shares won’t be lent out.
Who can buy: eligible investors in the US, the EU and “other permitted jurisdictions”. There’s no full public list. You need to pass onboarding and KYC through Securitize Markets, its FINRA-member broker-dealer (a firm licensed to buy and sell shares for customers), and Securitize Markets decides who is eligible.
You pay in USDC, and trades settle on Solana. Jump Trading is the market maker (the firm that stands ready to buy and sell, so there’s always a price). Trading runs in extended hours at launch, with 24/7 planned. Securitize also plans to list on NYSE’s 24/7 digital venue and OKXICE, a tokenized securities venue run jointly by OKX and Intercontinental Exchange, subject to approval.
The big limit: the tokens only move between KYC-approved (whitelisted) wallets. You can’t send one to a DEX or a lending app. Securitize says lending and collateral markets “like Aave” may come “over time”. Jupiter was named as a planned outlet back in May 2026, but the launch doesn’t mention it, so buy on Securitize’s own site.
PreStocks: pre-IPO companies, but you don’t own the shares
PreStocks are tokens tracking pre-IPO companies (companies not yet listed on a stock exchange) such as OpenAI, Anthropic and Anduril. They trade on Jupiter and inside wallets such as Phantom. Each is backed 1:1 by an SPV’s exposure to the company’s shares. By PreStocks’ own terms, they give no ownership, votes, dividends or information rights. They’re not for US persons or anyone else it calls ineligible.
Here’s why that matters. In May 2026, Anthropic and OpenAI said the share transfers behind these tokens were void, and the tokens fell sharply within days. There’s no public share price to pull the token back in line, so when the backing is questioned, nothing stops the fall. Only put in money you can afford to lose completely.
Can you use tokenized stocks in DeFi?
xStocks: yes, and it’s the most used. Kamino opened its xStocks market in July 2025, so you can borrow against it: deposit xStocks and borrow stablecoins without selling. You can also add xStocks to liquidity pools on Raydium, or just trade on Jupiter.
Superstate’s shares: yes, outside the US. Since 18 December 2025, Kamino has accepted Opening Bell shares as collateral, starting with FWDI, for non-US holders. That lets you borrow stablecoins against a real SEC-registered share.
The rest of Solana DeFi, issuer by issuer:
- Ondo: built for DeFi, but its docs name no lending markets.
- Backpack: tokens move to wallets and DEXs, and Kamino opened an isolated lending market on 28 October 2026 where you can borrow USDC against MU, SKHY, SPCX and SNDK tokens.
- Securitize: no, approved wallets only. Aave is a plan, not a product.
- PreStocks: trading only, from what its docs show.
Is it safe to buy tokenized stocks?
It’s as safe as the issuer and your own checks, and with most issuers your claim is on the issuer, not the share.
Fake and clashing tickers. Anyone can launch a token called AAPLx. Even real issuers can look alike: Securitize’s site and Backpack both show SpaceX as SPCX, but rwa.xyz lists Securitize’s Solana token as SPCXs, and they are different tokens with different rules. Galaxy publishes one contract address for GLXY on Solana and says any other is fraudulent. Match the mint address every time, against the issuer’s own site.
Issuer risk. With xStocks or Ondo, if the issuer or custodian fails, your claim is on them and the assets they pledged, not on Apple or Tesla. Issuers can also pause or move tokens through Token Extensions.
Off-hours prices. When the US market is shut, on-chain prices can drift from the real share, sometimes a long way. Avoid big orders at weekends.
Country rules. Don’t get round a block with a VPN. You’d break the issuer’s terms, and the issuer controls redemption and can freeze tokens. That’s a bad position to be in with your money.
Tax. Swaps, sales and dividends can each be taxable where you live, so keep a record of every one.
FAQ
Can US residents buy tokenized stocks on Solana?
Of the five main issuers, only Securitize, after KYC through its broker-dealer. Superstate’s company-issued shares such as GLXY also go to approved, KYC’d investors. xStocks, Ondo, Backpack Securities and PreStocks all exclude US persons.
Can you buy tokenized stocks on Solana without KYC?
A DEX swap of xStocks, Ondo or PreStocks doesn’t check ID, but you still have to be in an allowed country, and Ondo still requires investor status where it restricts access. Exchanges, Backpack and Securitize always need KYC.
Do tokenized stocks pay dividends?
It depends on the issuer. Securitize passes them through. xStocks raises your token balance. Ondo reinvests them into the price after withholding tax. Backpack reinvests them as extra tokens. PreStocks pays none.
Can I trade tokenized stocks 24/7?
xStocks, yes. Backpack, for selected stocks. Ondo is generally 24/5, with some weekend sessions. Securitize runs extended hours at launch, with 24/7 planned.
