What is Grass?

Grass is a Solana-based DePIN network, run by Wynd Network, that pays users for sharing unused home internet bandwidth. That bandwidth is used to collect public web data for AI training. You earn points for the bandwidth it uses, and the points turn into rewards when Grass runs a distribution.

The reason I take Grass more seriously than most bandwidth apps is that it actually makes money. Grass’s recap of its 7 July holder call (published 10 July 2026) puts revenue at $17 million in 2025 and another $17 million in the first half of 2026. The same recap says Stage 2 is funded entirely from network revenue rather than new token emissions. That doesn’t mean your share will be big, as you’ll see below.

Wynd Network’s December 2023 seed round was led by Polychain Capital and Tribe Capital, with Big Brain Holdings among the other backers. Nice to know, but if you’re claiming, the revenue line matters far more than who backed the seed round. Season 1 paid out in the GRASS token. Season 2 pays in USDC. Grass Season 2 Airdrop: How Much Is Your USDC Worth?

Grass Season 2 pays $0.0049 per Network Point and $0.00000007 per Uptime Point, according to Grass’s Stage 2 allocation post (10 July 2026). You’ll see a “$3 million” total quoted in third-party write-ups of the 7 July holder call. Grass’s own written posts don’t state a total, so treat that figure as unconfirmed.

That second row is the painful one. If you were proud of a seven-figure Uptime number, sorry, a million Uptime Points is about 7 cents. Uptime Points only measure how long your device was online. Network Points measure the bandwidth Grass actually used, and that’s what got paid.

The other reason your number might be small is that traffic was concentrated. The holder-call recap says about 150,000 users received roughly 90% of the network’s traffic during Stage 2. Device also mattered: the allocation post gives Network Points earned on the Android app a 10x bonus and the desktop app 5x, against the standard rate on the Chrome extension. Those bonuses are already in the number you see.

From Epoch 11 of Stage 2, a fixed pool of 1,000,000 Network Points has been shared out each day based on the bandwidth each user contributes (Grass docs).

Why USDC? Grass Foundation’s X post of 1 July 2026 said it was “in the interest of navigating ongoing regulatory uncertainty”. This round creates no new GRASS tokens, and holding GRASS, now or in the past, doesn’t change what you get.

Grass Season 2 (Stage 2) Claim Deadline: 22 January 2027

You have until 22 January 2027 to claim. That’s about 15 weeks from today (7 October 2026). After that, the allocation post says unclaimed rewards are retained by Grass. No grace period has been announced, so I wouldn’t wait.

Before you claim, check where you live. Eligibility is subject to the Grass Rewards Program Terms, which list prohibited jurisdictions. Don’t try to get around them with a VPN.

Then watch out for fake claim pages. Season 2 is claimed only inside the Grass Dashboard at app.grass.io. There’s no separate claim site, and you never need to connect an outside wallet or sign anything to “check eligibility”. If a link in a reply or DM says otherwise, it’s a drainer. Here’s how to spot a fake claim page before it costs you.

Grass Season 2 Fees: What Claiming and Withdrawing Cost

Claiming into the Grass in-app wallet costs a $0.15 Turnkey wallet fee per transaction plus the variable Solana network fee. Grass offers to pay both by deducting them from your allocation, so they come out of your USDC. The allocation post (10 July 2026) adds that the $0.15 is only charged if you use the in-app wallet, and that Grass earns nothing from these fees.

Moving the USDC out of the in-app wallet is another transaction, so expect another $0.15 plus the Solana fee. Grass’s wallet guide (22 July 2026) puts the Solana fee at about $0.0005, with optional priority fees typically under $0.01 when the network is busy. Claim plus one withdrawal comes to roughly $0.30 plus two small Solana fees.

What that means in practice:

• If your allocation is under about $0.30, claiming and withdrawing may leave you with little or nothing.
• Every extra send from the in-app wallet costs another $0.15, so move everything in one go.
• Since the $0.15 only applies to the in-app wallet, exporting the key and sending from an external wallet should only cost the normal Solana fee, paid in SOL from that wallet. Grass doesn’t spell that route out step by step, and export takes a few security checks (covered below). For a single send of a small amount, I don’t think it’s worth the hassle.

What to Do With Your Grass USDC

Once claimed, the USDC sits in your Grass in-app wallet. Grass Foundation calls the wallet self-custodial in its 1 July post. The wallet guide says the private key is generated and stored by a third-party provider, Turnkey, and Grass itself never has access to it. You approve transactions with a passkey (fingerprint, face unlock or PIN).

You can export the key from Wallet, then Advanced Settings, then Export Private Key, as plain text or as a word-based seed phrase. Export asks for your Grass password, a tick-box confirmation and a one-time code sent to your email. If you signed up with just an email code, you may not have a password yet, so check that before you need it. Anyone with that key controls the funds, so treat it like a seed phrase and follow basic Solana security habits.

Your options, from the wallet guide:

1. Leave it there. Fine short term, but most people don’t want funds parked in an app wallet they never open.
2. Send it to your own Solana wallet. Go to Withdraw, then Send Tokens to Another Wallet, then Link Wallets (you can link up to 20). Pick the token, amount and linked wallet, then approve. The fee is covered above.
3. Swap it in the app. Swaps are gasless: the network cost comes out of the token you’re swapping, so you don’t need SOL. Quotes expire after at most 30 seconds, so confirm quickly.
4. Cash out. Withdraw, then Sell Tokens on the Exchange runs through MoonPay for SOL, USDC and USDT. Payouts go to a card, Venmo or PayPal, depending on what MoonPay supports in your region.

My take: send it to a wallet you already use, in a single transaction. If you don’t have one yet, create a Solana wallet first. Then you can put it to work. Is There a Grass Season 3 Airdrop? (Date and Status)

Not officially. As of 7 October 2026, Grass hasn’t announced a date, size or currency for any distribution after Stage 2. Grass’s docs still describe the daily Network Point pool, so points keep adding up on your dashboard. What they’ll be worth is unknown.

The holder-call recap had a couple of useful details for anyone still farming. Android phones were the highest-earning devices on the network, then the desktop app, then the Chrome extension. And the Grasshopper hardware device “will not proceed to rollout at this time”, so don’t buy anything sold under that name.

What would change my view: an official Grass Foundation post with Stage 3 dates and a currency. Until then I’d count any new points as a maybe. Nice if they pay, but don’t plan around them.

Grass Season 1 Recap: Can You Still Claim?

No. Grass’s Airdrop One docs say the Season 1 claim opened on 28 October 2024 and handed out 100,000,000 GRASS (10% of supply). To qualify, you needed 500+ Grass Points in an epoch and a wallet linked before 20:00 UTC on 14 October 2024. The extended claim window closed around 27 March 2025. The old grassfoundation.io/connect claim link from earlier versions of this guide no longer works for claims.

If you missed it, it’s gone. Anyone offering you a “late Season 1 claim” is after your wallet.

Grass Pros: Why It’s Still Worth Running

• Setup is easy. Sign-up is an email and a one-time code, with no referral code or password needed (Grass’s Android setup guide, September 2026).
• It’s set and forget. Expect pocket money for most people, though. The Season 2 maths above is clear on that.
• Season 2 paid in USDC, so there was no token to watch dump on claim day.

Grass Cons and Risks

• Privacy. You’re letting a third party route web traffic through your home IP. Some people won’t be comfortable with that, and that’s a fair call.
• Small payouts for most. Uptime Points turned out to be worth almost nothing, a small group of users got most of the traffic, and the fees can eat a tiny allocation.
• One connection, one reward. Grass’s setup guide caps rewards per internet connection, so a second device on the same Wi-Fi adds nothing.
• The rules change between seasons. Season 1 paid tokens and Season 2 paid USDC, and every claim brings a wave of phishing links.

My Take

Claim your Season 2 USDC now. It takes a couple of minutes, and unless your allocation is tiny the fees are small. There’s no upside in waiting until January.

Going forward, Grass is worth running on a device and connection you already have, ideally a spare Android phone. I wouldn’t spend money on it. Earlier versions of this guide pushed a VPS and proxy setup to farm many accounts. I’ve removed it. Grass now caps rewards per connection and wants nodes on home networks without a VPN, and datacentre bandwidth isn’t what it pays for.

When is the Grass Season 2 claim deadline?

22 January 2027. The eligibility period (Stage 2) ended on 8 June 2026 with Epoch 19, and claims opened on 22 July 2026. After 22 January 2027, Grass keeps unclaimed rewards.

What is the official Grass Season 2 claim link, and how do I claim?

There is no separate claim link. Type app.grass.io into your browser yourself, log in with the email you farmed on, open the Allocation tab, check your USDC in the Rewards Checker and confirm the claim. The USDC lands in your in-app Grass wallet. From there you can send it to your own Solana wallet via Withdraw, then Send Tokens to Another Wallet. Any other “claim” or “checker” site is a likely drainer.

Who is eligible for the Grass Season 2 airdrop?

Stage 2 had 19 epochs, from 14 October 2024 to 8 June 2026. Anyone who earned more than zero Network Points in them is eligible, subject to Grass’s rewards terms and their prohibited jurisdictions. Holding GRASS has no effect on eligibility.
