How to Stake $JUP (Jupiter): ASR Rewards, 7-Day Unstake

RazzaerUpdated Published 3 min read

To stake $JUP, connect your wallet at vote.jup.ag, enter an amount and click “Stake”. You earn quarterly rewards and can unstake in 7 days.

Those rewards are Active Staking Rewards (ASR): 50 million JUP a quarter, shared by time-weighted stake, which just means your average stake across the quarter. You don’t have to vote to get them, but staking does give you a vote on Jupiter DAO proposals.

ASR is also the one JUP reward still running. A DAO vote in February 2026 postponed the Jupuary 2026 airdrop indefinitely, so don’t stake expecting a round 2 drop.

Key takeaways

  • Stake JUP at vote.jup.ag: connect your wallet, enter an amount and click Stake.
  • Staking earns Active Staking Rewards, 50 million JUP a quarter split by your average stake, and you need an average of 50 JUP or more to qualify.
  • Voting is optional and has no effect on ASR.
  • You claim ASR at jup.ag/rewards during a limited window after each quarter, and you can't claim while an unstake is in cooldown.
  • Unstaking takes 7 days and you can cancel at any point during the cooldown.

Step 1: Get Ready to Stake Your $JUP Tokens

You need $JUP in a Solana wallet you control. Phantom, Solflare or Jupiter’s own wallet all connect to the staking site. If your JUP is on an exchange, withdraw it on the Solana network first, and keep a little SOL for fees. After JupSOL instead? That’s staking SOL, which is covered in our SOL staking guide.

Your share of ASR depends on how much you keep staked across the quarter, and you need an average of 50 JUP or more to qualify. Because it’s an average, timing matters more than size: stake early in the quarter, since JUP staked in its last few weeks barely moves your average.

The only official staking site is vote.jup.ag. Don’t stake anywhere else, because fake staking pages copy it. Connect, type the amount, click “Stake” and confirm in your wallet. Already staked from 2024? There’s nothing to redo. It’s the same stake, and any unstake you start now uses the 7-day cooldown.

Step 2: Vote If You Want a Say

Voting is optional. Your staked JUP is your voting power on DAO proposals. Each vote is an on-chain transaction, so keep about 0.01 SOL in the wallet. You can change your vote while a proposal is live.

Voting has no effect on ASR. Skipping a vote won’t cost you rewards, and your choice doesn’t change your share. I’d still vote on the big ones. The February vote that shelved Jupuary shows these decide what happens to the tokens you hold.

Step 3: JUP Staking Rewards (ASR) and How to Claim Them

ASR pays 50 million JUP each quarter from the community allocation. Because it’s time-weighted, 1,000 JUP staked all quarter counts as 1,000, while the same 1,000 staked only for the last month counts as about 333. There’s no fixed APY, since your cut also depends on how much everyone else stakes. Quarters follow the calendar, so October to December is the one building now.

Rewards don’t arrive by themselves. Shortly after each quarter ends, the claim opens in the Jupiter Rewards Hub, not on vote.jup.ag. Connect your staking wallet, click claim and confirm, with about 0.01 SOL for the fee. The JUP is added to your stake, so it counts toward the current quarter from the day you claim it.

The window is limited. After it closes you can still claim through a Jupiter support ticket until a final deadline, then the rewards are gone. You also can’t claim during an unstake cooldown. Dates change every quarter, so check our Jupiter airdrop page for the current window. Fake “Jupiter claim” sites pop up every round, and these are the usual tricks.

Step 4: Avoid Splitting $JUP Across Wallets

Splitting your JUP across wallets doesn’t get you more ASR, because rewards go by how much you stake. It can cost you: a wallet that averages under 50 JUP for the quarter gets nothing. Keep your stake in one account.

Step 5: How to Unstake $JUP (7-Day Cooldown)

To unstake, open the Unstake tab on vote.jup.ag, pick an amount, click “Unstake” and confirm. That starts a 7-day cooldown that can’t be skipped or sped up.

Changed your mind? Click “Cancel” any time in those 7 days and your JUP stays staked. When the countdown ends, click “Claim” to get it back in your wallet. You can still vote with your remaining power while you wait.

I wouldn’t start an unstake right before an ASR claim opens, because you’d have to cancel it to claim. The cooldown is there so people can’t stake just before a reward period and leave straight after.

Step 6: Look Out for Other Rewards for JUP Stakers

Some projects have rewarded JUP stakers who vote, separate from ASR. In 2024, Zeus Network gave Jupiter launchpad voters extra ZEUS, a Discord role and early testnet access. UpRock won the second LFG launchpad vote, and our UpRock guide covers how voters checked their allocations. If new ones come up, you’ll find them on our airdrops hub.

The video below shows the 2024 staking flow. The unstake period and rewards have changed since, so follow the steps above.
